Oliver Hynd MBE, known as Ollie, is a successful and inspiring three-time Paralympic swimming champion from Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. Now 27, Ollie made his debut at the 2011 IPC European Championships, where he beat his older brother Sam’s previous record and won the 200 m individual medley.
Ollie has since claimed four world titles, as well as a Commonwealth gold. In the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Paralympic Games, he beat the world record in his opening and closing events, winning gold medals in both. Ollie was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2013 New Year Honours for his services to swimming. Ollie continues to use his platform to inspire and encourage others, particularly the younger generation. He raises awareness to important topics such as supporting disabled people and their communities and discussing mental health.
