Pelvic Venous Congestion Treatment

Varicose veins can be caused by broken veins within the pelvis.

The valves with the veins fail and blood falls back or refluxes into the pelvis / upper legs when it should normally return to the heart. These broken veins are a very common cause of pelvic pain in women (Pelvic Venous Congestion). The two conditions often go hand in hand.

Common symptoms include:

  • Veins around the pelvis / perineum / vulva.
  • Chronic pain / dragging / aching in the pelvis
  • Symptoms and veins worse around the time of periods

"Crucially she listened to my concerns and was able to be open and honest about what we could achieve"

Really happy with my initial consultation with Regina. Regina not only took me through the whole process step by step but crucially she listened to my concerns and was able to be open and honest about what we could achieve with my hair density.

"Both the doctor and the technicians were fantastic from start to finish"

Very happy with my experience. Did a combined FUT and FUE transplant. Both the doctor and the technicians were fantastic from start to finish. Would recommend to anybody planning to do the same thing.

How it works

At HHC vein clinics our consultant vein specialists are Interventional Radiology Consultants and experts in treating these conditions.

The veins can be treated by blocking them with small metal coils called embolisation and the blood will return to the heart in the normal veins. This can be done simply and safely with minimally invasive day surgery. No time off work needed. A pelvic venogram and embolisation is available through our HHC experts who can offer this procedure through HHC using the state of the art facilities at the Spire Hospital Nottingham.
